Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos is uniquely built into a steep cliffside, providing spectacular panoramic views of both the Pacific Ocean and the marina, but it requires a lot of vertical navigation. This layout guide breaks down the resort structure from the 7th-floor dining hub down to the beach-level amenities and hidden chill zones, helping you know exactly what to expect before you book.
Thinking about booking a getaway to Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos? Before you lock in your reservation, there is one critical factor you need to understand: the resort's physical geography. Unlike a traditional, flat all-inclusive property, Sandos Finisterra is uniquely terraced and built directly into a steep cliffside.
Reflecting back on my stay there in November, I put together a comprehensive walkthrough to help you visualize exactly how this property flows.
Our layout tour begins at the highest point of the resort's main structure. The 7th floor acts as the primary hub for entertainment and dining, featuring the restaurant Don Diego which transition depending on the time of day. In the morning, this area hosts the resort's main breakfast buffet, but when evening arrives, it transforms into a specialty Mexican restaurant. This level also features the popular Cupcake Cafe, all boasting incredible sweeping views. As a bonus insider tip, the public restroom on this level features an absolute premier panoramic view of the marina below that you definitely have to see for yourself.
Moving between the upper hub and the lower amenities is where the resort's unique terrain becomes a major factor. If you choose to walk, you will be taking the iconic cliffside stairs. It is a fantastic daily cardio workout, but it is certainly not for everyone. For those who prefer a more relaxed commute, there is an elevator stack built into the rock face that serves as an absolute lifesaver.
At the base of the cliffside lies the beach-level area, which houses the main pool complexes, swim-up bars, and daytime dining options. While the beach itself is gorgeous, keep in mind that the ocean water here is generally non-swimmable due to strong undertows. Beyond the main pools, one of the best parts of exploring Sandos Finisterra is discovering the quiet, hidden chill zones tucked away across the property that most average tourists completely miss. And if you are wondering about fitness options, there is gym located over on the marina side of the property as well as tennis courts.
